Once upon a time, there was a kid who «liked to sing, dance, pretend, and have some fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, FUUUN…»
In 2011, a video began circulating around YouTube about an adorable blonde boy (with an awesome bowl haircut) singing, dancing, and playing the kazoo.
The song—titled You on Kazoo—was originally from a 1989 children’s TV show, Special Friends.
Three years later, a YouTube channel called «DeadVCR» found the song and uploaded an edited version. By 2015, the video had gained more than 500,000 views and 2,200 comments. When it was uploaded to Reddit, it got 99% upvoted by 420 votes and 60 comments in the space of three months.
Soon, remixes of the song began to crop up around the internet. One SoundCloud user uploaded a techno remix, while others posted a «YouTube Poop» and «let’s do acid» remix. It has even gotten a trap remix:
Who is The Kazoo Kid?

Where’s The Kazoo Kid Today?
You’ll be glad to hear that Brett continued to be an actor and musician. In fact, he starred as Buddy Holly in a Colorado production of The Buddy Holly story.
Can we do more kazoo?
For those of our special friends who miss the kazoo kid, we have a real treat for you!
We found a new-age funky tune from Brett Ambler (Yes, he is playing the kazoo!). Listen to it, partner!
Guys. I made this. Listen to it. Enjoy it. Happy National Kazoo Day. https://t.co/G4sX6SWTIf
